Walking Through the Flames

A young woman’s faith in the midst of finding out she had a brain tumor* reminded me of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s faith. They knew God could deliver them from the fiery furnace in and they resolved to believe in Him even if He didn’t. Since then a song has been running through my mind based on that passage in Daniel 3.

“Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up” (Daniel 3:17-18).

  1. I heard that song years ago and forgot everything about it except parts of the tune and some of the chorus. I looked for it all over the Internet and couldn’t find anything like it. Thanks so much for posting this! Now that I know the title I still can’t find it in any hymnals.

  2. My pastor and his three sons sang this song October 28th on our special request day. Since then I’ve copied the CDs we made that Sunday and gave them away as gifts. This song walking through the flames seems to be a favorite with a lot of the recipients. Praise be to God for always being with us in all our trials. We shall and have gained the victory!

  3. Wow, I just heard this song on the radio (90.7 FM in Eastern N.C. or http://www.fbnradio.com) and loved it, so I looked it up on the internet and was able to hear it again! It moves me to tears–I am so glad to know Jesus as my Saviour and to have Him with me through every trial! What a privilege to walk with Him!
