Show and Tell Friday

Kelli at There’s No Place Like Home hosts “Show and Tell Friday” asking Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there’s a story behind your special something, that’s even better! If you would like to join in, all you have to do is post your “Show and Tell” on your blog, copy the post link, come over here and add it to Mr. Linky. Guidelines are here.

New floral arrangement

Vase

These are a couple of recent online sale purchases. Every Friday some of the shops at Make Mine Pink feature sales based on a theme of the week. Last week it was baby gifts, this week it is “Wonderful Whites.” I think the week I got these the theme was something like “From the Garden.”

I got these from Hydrangea Home at a very nice sale price. The first one is just “me” all the way around. And I have always wanted something like the second one for when I cut a few roses from the bushes along the house or bring flowers home from the store.

I also wanted to show my current work-in-progress:

Happy Friday!

  1. I so [should I type S E W?] admire you ladies that can do cross stitch!!! Lovely, just lovely. And I like how you made that white holder with such creamy looking roses!!! Beautiful.

Stop by my antique show n tell if you can. [you’ll need to scroll down a bit since I added the Tropical Storm update of the damage done in Houston where my son lives on the top of my blog this morning! —]

    Happy weekend.

  2. I’m back….now I read your Thursday list on baby boomer stuff. Lordy…do they all bring back memories of long ago or what? I remember mom saving S&H stamps. She’d have books and books of them and then go trade them in. Wow, what a list. Loved it. [glad to hear that you figured out the new blogger commenting!!]

Thanks for the visit to my blog and leaving such a nice comment yesterday. I’m behind visiting my T-13 visitors and trying to catch up this morning.

  3. I love your poem and your beautiful online finds. The frog is nice and will hold a lovely display of roses or flowers.

I can’t wait to see the finished cross stitch project. That is a nice makings of a chocolate pot. 🙂

Thanks for the kind words posted on my blog earlier.

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I enjoyed seeing your new purchased and they are really different and nice to have. Thanks for the link to the stores too.
Great start on your cross stitch too. : )

  5. Everything is just so pretty I dont know where to begin. I think though that your handwork is really so sweet. I just cant see to read those patterns anymore. Bifocals dont help! Super post!

  6. Ok, this sounds totally nutty! But I LOVE the white vase. But I wouldn’t use it for flowers. I would use it as a toothbrush holder, LOL! I think it is so elegant and feminine. It’s so beautiful!

I also like to cross-stich too. Very nice handiwork there. 🙂

Thanks for visiting my show and tell. It was nice having you stop by. 🙂

  7. Hi Barbara,

That coffeepot is so pretty. I can’t wait to see what goes around it!

Thanks for the encouraging comment on my cross-stitch. I was able to work in a few more stitches last night. I think the final dimensions is going to be somthing like 18″ x 22″.
