The strayest assortment of thoughts….

  • Twice this week I have rinsed my hair in the shower and then couldn’t remember if I had just washed it or was wetting it to wash it. 🙄
  • I know the conventional wisdom in blogging and web design is not to extend the text much below what the reader can see at first, the idea being they’ll just read what’s on top and not scroll down. But am I the only one who would rather scroll down than click through to another page???
  • When I am Googling something and click on a link that turns out to be a slide show, I almost never click on it any further. I’d much rather see a list I can skim through. Rarely do the links for the next slide come through quickly, but even if they did, it’s much more efficient to just look down a list than keep clicking for the next thing
  • Why:

Do arrogant people not recognize the quality in themselves?
Do people stop in doorways to talk?
Do black beans gross me out?
Does the tip of the pizza slice taste the best?

It seems like there was something else I was ruminating about…I guess I’ll have to save that for another time… if I remember it. 🙂

  1. Very funny! You don’t have to feel bad about these things. I think they are more common than you think. It’s just we don’t all admit to them. :o) I totally agree that I’d rather skim a list than wait for a slideshow. If I want to know something, it doesn’t mean I have all day to find out. Black beans gross you out because of the color. Here, we have the same problem with squid in its own ink. It tastes great, but the color . . . and served with rice, it looks like gray lice. Not appetizing for us westerners. I do eat it, but I try not to think about the color. I am definitely in favor of the Japanese concept of colorful food! And, to me, the pizza tastes best at the tip because everything flows there, including the cheese. Yummmmmmm!

  2. I really dislike having to click to another page to finish a post. I always think: I’ve already clicked to come to your blog, why are you making me click yet again to read more than a couple of sentences? Oh well, to each his own even in the blogging world.

I think the tip of the pizza is the best because the most cheese resides there. :vp

  3. At least your hair got rinsed! I washed mine, rinsed, put on conditioner and never rinsed it out. I was trying to figure out why my hair was turning out so weird while trying to blow dry it! 🙂

  4. ;D I also like to see the whole post in my Google Reader. I don’t mind scrolling down. I dislike seeing only a “teaser” with a need to click through and read further. I’m already there. So no, you are not alone. 🙂

I think it’s funny black beans gross you out.

You can rest up against the door post. That’s why. 🙂

And the best part of the pizza is the CRUST, don’tcha know?!

  5. Ha! I love it! 🙂 We have a saying down south–“I don’t know if I’m washing [clothes] or hanging out [clothes].” In other words, I don’t know if I’m coming or going, etc. That reminds me of your quandary over your hair. I can imagine myself doing the exact same thing. We have too much on our minds! 🙂

I don’t like making extra clicks to finish a blog post, either, but then, I am about as far from an expert on blogging as they come, so take that for what it’s worth.

  6. You are too funny! What is really bad is you aren’t the first one to forget “where” they are in their shower! Good questions…

  7. Right, it is definitely more convenient to have a list of pictures rather than a slideshow. But if they do that, then you’ll only see one page of ads, instead of 20.

  8. Glad I’m not the only one who does that shower thing. 🙂

And yes! I’d much rather scroll than click. Am I really that lazy? I suppose so. And slide shows end it for me, too.

I love hearing from you. I've had to turn on comment moderation. Comments will appear here after I see and approve them.
