These tips I gleaned from my husband. π He keeps all the receipts from Christmas (he also does this on birthdays, etc.) in one envelope so that if something does need to be returned, he knows right where they are and has them handy. He keeps his in his desk; I keep mine in the top drawer of my dresser in the bedroom because I usually wrap presents on my bed (the bedrooms are the only rooms in the house where we can shut the door — everything else is open to other rooms. Well, except the bathrooms, of course. π ) From time to time I clean out the accumulated receipts when that designated spot gets too crowded.
When it comes to major purchases, like appliances or electronics, he staples the receipt to the owner’s manual and keeps that and any service contracts in a file for such in the filing cabinet. That way all of that information is together and easy to find is the product breaks down or needs to be serviced.

We do this, too. After having been caught out a few times, we no make darn sure to keep them in one place! Great tip!
We do this too! During Christmas time, I keep an envelope in my purse and slip the receipts in there as soon as I make the purchase… Very helpful!
Great idea. I save receipts too. You can’t go wrong with saving them… it is throwing them away or losing them that can get you into trouble if you need to return something or something gets broken!
Great ideas! Very handy. Thanks for sharing =)
I could have written this post, Barbara. I have always done all of these things. I have one big envelope for Christmas receipts. Every receipt for every single purchase for Christmas goes into it. I wrap gifts on my bed. And I always staple receipts for large purchases to the owners manuals.
Seriously, I could have authored this one! So obviously I have to say, “Great Ideas!” π
What a great idea! Especially the stapling to the owners manuel.
And thanks for stopping by my blog today and commenting! (o:

I keep my receipts in my bedroom endtable, but they’re thrown in. I should probably use an envelope!
