Questions for today from Booking Through Thursday:
- Do you read e-Books?
- If so, how? On your computer, or a PDA?
- Or are you a paper purist? Why?
I have never read an e-book — I can’t imagine sitting at the computer for the length of time it would take to read through a book — although I probably sit at the computer long enough to read a book. 🙂
I think in my mind I think of reading on the computer in shorter bits — I even lose attention in very long posts or e-mails or articles. Plus there’s just something about curling up on the couch with a throw blanket and a good book. 🙂
So, I am not a paper purist in the sense that I think all books should be on paper and it’s a travesty to have books on the computer — not at all. I’m glad books are available on the computer, but my preference is to take any lengthy reading away from the computer.
I don’t own a PDA, so that might make a difference. I can’t imagine reading a book through that tiny little screen. But my husband and two older kids use them a lot. I may try it out down the road.
I sit at the computer long enough to have read a book too, but I still prefer the old fashhioned way.
I have bought one e-book, a homemaking book, that I printed out and put in a binder. I probably do sit at the computer long enough to read a book, but I still prefer the old-fashioned way of getting comfy on the couch, holding a book and a drink!
I didn’t even know they had e-books. Goes to show you how “with it” I am. I couldn’t read a book on the computer. Our chair is so uncomfortable, my back would be killing me. It’s hurting right now. I don’t have a PDA, but my hubby does. He likes his a lot. As a stay at home mom, I don’t have much use for a PDA right now.
Same thoughts here, Barbara. I prefer printouts or actual books. Can’t really read long online/on screen because I’ll lose track, for sure. Happy weekend!
while ive thought about ebooks i prefer paper especially as i read in bed to relax before sleeping besides which i probably do enough reading of blogs lol
