Note to politicians

I do not base my decision about who to vote for on the phone calls I receive, either the number of quality of them.

In fact, I am tempted to decide not to vote for the next campaign that calls me. But that would be shallow.

I will be so glad when our primary is over tomorrow. I have never in my life been inundated with so many political calls. I guess it’s because there are still so many candidates. Most annoying are the recorded calls which say, “We’re so sorry to disturb you, but this call was meant for your answering machine.”

I think I am going to write to Congress this year pleading that political calls be included in the  “Do Not Call” exclusions.

  1. Ok–do you live in SC? I do and we are having Republican primary here tomorrow. I had to go to USC to get him today so he could vote. BUT I love it!! I don’t get the calls because I am on a do not call list and only have a cell phone!

    Yes, I am in SC. I’m on a do not call list, but political and charitable calls are exempted from it. I don’t think they call cell phones, though — we’ve talked about getting rid of the landlines and just using our cells.

    I’m hoping the snow forecast won’t effect the primaries much. My husband is from the northwest and used to driving in it, but a lot of crazies around here either drive too fast or too slow. 🙂

  5. These calls are an epidemic and are invading the privacy of All American Voters.

    Our members are taking a stand and saying enough is enough at the National Political Do Not Contact Registry at StopPoliticalCalls.org.

    Here is a quote from a member this morning:

    “I find it very frustrating… I tend to get calls at the WORST time. I have a one year old daughter, and it NEVER fails that the phone will ring when I put her down for a nap or for bed. Also my vote is PRIVATE… so who do you think you are calling with a survey to find out who I am voting for!!! Stop calling me.”
