This post is brought to you by the letters Q and R

It’s Wednesday, time again for Melli’s ABC photo challenge. We’re supposed to look for letters in common everyday things or in nature without actually manipulating anything to make the letter and without photographing the letter itself in a word or sign. We’re doing two letters a week, and this week it is Q and R.

I have to tell you I am very excited about my Qs!

Here is a lower-case Q in the wiring to the left of the traffic light:

ABC Challenge: Q

I’ve been wanting to take a picture of this for weeks just because it amused me. This morning I finally had my camera with me, and, lo and behold, the wheels make Qs.

ABC Challenge: Q

I can also see a Y and Xs there!

All of my Rs are lower-case. I’ll be interested to see if anyone found an upper-case one. This is the first one I saw, a corner traffic light arm downtown:

ABC Challenge: R

And here are a couple more:

ABC Challenge: R

Of the remaining letters, I’ve seen all of them, though I haven’t taken the photos yet, except U and W. You can visit Melli‘s to see more photo challenge entries for Q and R.

  1. OH! That was some excellent Q hunting! Ya know… actually, on the traffic light, I see the lower case q on the left – but the loop on the right makes a capital Q if you tip it right too! And the grocery cart sign is amazing — LOTS of letters in it! I even see an A – that I was trying really hard to maneuver into a capital R… but I couldn’t do it… LOL! I do remember noticing the road arrows one time – but then I forgot about them. You did good!!!

  2. I see an A too on the cart!! interesting finds for the letters! thanks for your nice words on mine , have a wonderful day!

  3. Good eye! My R is upper case! Also in a tree.

That is a funny sign – did it get put upside down accidentally do you think?

  4. I like your letter finds. Melli is correct about that capital Q. You could have walked to the other side of the intersection, taken another photo, and had a two-fer!

Your first R photo had two rs in it, and the top one was calligraphically perfect!

  5. Well done – I loved the Q’s on the cart!
The light was a real find as well.
The r in the street I can completely see now that you’ve pointed it out. 🙂

I think the hard part is over. It should be a piece of cake to finish.

  6. Thanks to your alpha posts, I’ve carried my camera everywhere this week, and gotten shots of almost all the letters of the alphabet. I haven’t posted them yet, though… They’re not nearly as clever and fun as yours.
