Works for Me Wednesday is a “backwards edition” this week, wherein we can ask a question for all the experienced experts out there.
My question is this: some of the new towels I buy sprout fuzz balls over over themselves and everything else in the washer the first several times they’re washed. Sometimes after repeated washing and drying it finally stops doing so, but some of them just keep on. I don’t know if it has to do with the quality of the towel: I’ve gotten them at three different places, and it hasn’t seemed to have made a difference. Any ideas?
Works For Me Wednesday is now hosted at We Are That Family.

U were Very good at finding U and V!
Maybe it’s because you don’t use Woolite? LOL And Quilly must have well been working her glass slippers or something or her computer flipped out and put her comment in the wrong place LOL…but shhhhh don’t tell her 🙂
I find that less expensive towels do this birthing of fuzz. One time, I took them back for an exchange.
Another time, I washed them separately many, many times before they behaved.
Now, I spend the extra $ and buy well-mannered towels.
I’m sorry not to have any solutions… I’m just checking in to see what others are saying, as I have the same problem!
Better-quality towels shed far less, and you can get them at places like TJMaxx/Homegoods if you want to spend a little less. I tend to buy all white towels (more spa-like), because they all pretty much match even if their detailing is slightly different. 🙂
