Welcome to Friday’s Fave Five, hosted by Susanne at Living to Tell the Story, in which we can share our favorite things from the last week. This has been a wonderful exercise in looking for and appreciating the good things God blesses us with. 1. A perfect Saturday: didn’t have any place I had to be, got some work done, but had time to read and relax, too.
2. Sunshine and 70s! There was only one time I noticed the temperature was up to 70, but it was in the high 60s for much of the week. I’ve known that the daylight has been increasing ever since Dec. 21, but this week is the first time I’ve really noticed that it has been getting dark later. Spring is coming soon!!!
3. Wellness. As I mentioned here, both Jesse and the dog have been very sick recently, and it’s nice to have everyone doing better — and nice as well that it didn’t spread to all the rest of us.
5. Emile Pandolfi. I have a few of his CDs but somehow had forgotten about them for a while. I wanted to play some love songs while making our special Valentine’s Day meal and dessert, and went through parts of The King’s Singers‘ Chanson d’Amour and the Irish Tenors‘ Heritage CDs, then decided I wanted just something instrumental, flipped through my CDs, and saw a few of Emile’s. Love his style and can’t believe I hadn’t played these in so long. Perfect. Beautiful, Peaceful. Just what I wanted. This first clip is from one of the songs I listened to, the second is one I discovered while searching YouTube, excerpts from one of his concerts. He even lived in our area of SC when we were there, but somehow I never went to see him. Wish I had now!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Glad you had such a great Saturday last week and hope you have another tomorrow!
Also glad to hear that Jesse and pooch are on the mend! That’s great news.
Enjoy your three-day weekend!
Glad that good health is returning to your home! Looks like you were surrounded by wonderful heart shaped goodies.
Have a wonderful weekend….
I’m looking forward to a perfect Saturday like that tomorrow. I’m so glad spring is on its way too. I’ve loved the warmer temps this week. Hope you have another great Saturday!
Yes — I’m noticing that it’s staying light longer here too! And the snow is melting. Come, spring!
Looks like you went all out for Valentine’s Day – the goodies look wonderful!
Glad to hear that Jesse and the dog are doing better. 🙂
Have a blessed weekend.
I love a relaxed Saturday–so glad you had a great day.
And wow, what a beautiful Valentine’s Day!
I just love those kind of Saturdays, and Sundays. Your Valentines Day was wonderful with all the yummies in the picture. I learned something today, when I scrolled past to get to the bottom of your comments area and past Ellen and Lisa’s (mouse over) I didn’t know an avatar brought up a profile box when you moused over. I love finding things by accident.
So glad to hear that health is returning to your home.
I’m totally understand what you mean by a perfect Saturday. Hopefully I have one of those today.
I am glad that Jesse and the dog are both doing better, and that no one else caught that nasty bug! I love the collage of your Valentine’s pics. And I am enjoying the music as I type this.
I wish it was warmer here. We finally had gorgeous sunshine today but the wind blew and it was COLD! The harbor looked fantastic though and I got some great “diamonds on the water” pics.
It did feel good to have some spring in the air this week, even though it was short lived, here in NY. Today was windy and COLD! I’m glad you had a nice Valentines Day, that health is being restored.
That sounds like a perfect Saturday to me too! I like that Valentine picture.
Oh – I couldn’t agree more about Emile Pandolfi – he is the world’s greatest piano player, bar none! What a lovely blog – I just “discovered it” – thank you for sharing!
Hello Barbara, My name is Mandy Wildman and I saw your blog and I just happen to be working with Emile Pandolfi and I showed him your blog. He was very touched, and he wanted me to convey this message to you:
“Hi there, Barbara! How great to meet you through your very entertaining blog. I was delighted when Mandy told me that you were sharing my site and music with your very many friends. That is so kind of you. I would love for you to come and join me on my FB page (http://www.facebook.com/emilepandolfi.music) so I can thank you publicly and perhaps introduce you to some of my friends as well. This is a pretty neat way to connect. Have a lovely day! Emile.”
