Happy Valentine’s Day! This will just be a fly-by post today as there is still much to do before our family Valentine’s dinner tonight. I’m cultivating gratefulness with Susanne and friends at Living to Tell the Story.
1. Pretty pens. Sometimes the pretty ones don’t write very well, but this one is both lovely to look at and functional.
2. Hiding cords and cables. I love our electronics, but I hate to see cords and cables and wires hanging off the furniture or tangled on the floor. With all the moving furniture around while painting, Jim has been finding ways to make the cords less noticeable.
3. A picture rehung. A picture above our bed has been off-center ever since we moved the bed over to make room for a chair. I have balance issues, so I wasn’t able to stand on the bed to rehang it, and the bed doesn’t move easily. Jim painted the master bedroom this week, and we finally got the picture in the right place while the bed was away from the wall.
4. No ice or snow. Our temperatures have varied this week with a lot of rain, but thankfully the rain didn’t come on days when the temperatures were low.
5. Good fellowship. I always enjoy being at church, but the last few weeks have had some especially good conversations with different people.
I hope you have a wonderful day and know how much you are loved.

Love your list! I hope you and your family enjoy a blessed and Happy Valentine’s Day! 🙂
Happy Valentine’s Day! You’re right on sometimes the pretty pens being duds for writing. Yours is lovely! I’m happy about your weather. We’ve been getting hit by several messes with ice, snow, etc. My organ church was canceled last Sun. and I’m suspecting that might happen again this week.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you!
I’m like that with wall hangings off center. I have a cute wall art hanging of sheep over my bed that is a bit off center and can’t get up on the bed to change it. So, I move my bed so that it looks centered. My bed is now not in the center of the wall but at least the wall hanging looks better. LOL
I love pretty pens; I have one that writes fairly well but I’m picky about pens, so I don’t use it very much.
Yes, very thankful for rain instead of ice and snow.
My computer cord hangs down behind my desk and I keep getting my food tangled in it. I think I need to do something with that.
Have a great day!
Oh I bet it was satisfying to move that picture lol – something off centre like that would drive me nuts. And tidy cables. Ours are an eyesore at the moment in the living room but hopefully when they install the units we’ll get them tidied up and hidden. Hope you have a nice family meal tonight and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
I like the sound of your “family Valentine’s dinner” — sweet way to celebrate love for one another!
Agree with you on those cords! There’s only so much we can do with “cordless” things. How lovely to get some sticky wicket things taken care of while bigger projects are at hand.
You’re so right that meaningful conversation is like the perfect spice for fellowship. Glad you have enjoyed several recently.
No ice and snow are always something to be thankful for. We’ve been having some of both along with some rain. Our weekend looks a bit bleak weather wise, but I have daffodils poking up through the soil, so spring won’t be long now.
Fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ is such a blessing…especially when good conversations are involved.
Have a wonderful evening with your family Valentine’s Day time.
What a pretty pen! Happy Valentine’s Day, Barbara!
Your fly-by faves were very sweet.
I agree with straight and centered pictures on the wall. I’m glad Jim was able to fix that.
I’m sure you had a wonderful time with your family Valentine’s dinner. What games did you play?
Enjoy your weekend–hopefully, you won’t have ice and snow and freezing temperatures. Willow
We are in a cold spell and unfortunately it’s very icy out, too. I dislike walking indoors, but I’ve resorted to some mall walks this past week. I love the pen!
I love a pretty AND functional pen! Glad you found one that is both. Our cords are a mess too. I see contraptions for sale online that supposedly solve the problem, but I’m not sure they always look better either. ha. We have a prediction of ice/snow tomorrow (y’all too?) but I’m hoping it will pass us by.
Bet that felt good getting that picture re-centered. Cords are my pet peeve. Such a pretty pen! It’s bitter cold here going on 3 weeks, in the -15 to -19*F range in the day. Even colder at night. Can’t wait to get February behind us. Hope you had a lovely Valentines with your family.
