It’s been a fairly low-key week, but a pleasant one. I’m joining Susanne and friends at Living to Tell the Story, not just to “look on the bright side,” but to cultivate gratitude in large and small happenings on good and bad days.
1. First daffodils of the season! They’re not my favorite flower, but they’re the first ones that bloom in our yard. They’re a sign that spring is almost here! For that and their cheerful look, I love them.

2. Dinner and flowers. Jason and Mittu brought over some barbecued chicken, macaroni and cheese, and salad as well as miniature pink roses one night.
3. Health Progress. Thanks so much for your prayers and kind words last week. I’m on a second round of antibiotics for the cellulitis. I saw the doctor for a follow-up visit Thursday, and he was pleased with how it looked. It’s hard for me to tell, because it looks better one hour and worse the next. So it was reassuring that he thought it was headed in the right direction. My prayer is for continued healing and that I won’t have to take a third round of antibiotics.
4. File organization. My desk has a built-in file drawer, and I realized that much of its content was not the kind of thing I needed close at hand. Plus, I wanted to make room for other things I did want close by. I was finally able to work on that this week, sorting through the files, throwing some things away or finding another home for them, and clearing some things off my desk into the newly created space..
5. The lunar eclipse. I figured my husband and I would wake up from our pre-bedtime naps on the couch in time to see something of the lunar eclipse. But then Timothy asked if he and Jason could come over and watch it here and then sleep in the RV. So the guys had kind of a watch party, complete with Jim’s telescope, portable fire pit, and s’mores. I went out around 2 a.m., when the moon was about 3/4 eclipsed.
How was your second week of March?

Wow, I’m so grateful for antibiotics (or any med that can knock out the cellulitis). I do hope you won’t have to do another round though, and I’ll pray. I think daffodils might become my favorite flower if they’re the first to appear π I’ve seen just the teeniest bits of green pushing through the ground here, but it’s something? I heard the eclipse mentioned, but then totally forgot about it. Glad you could see it!
Such good news about the improvement with your leg. I’m so glad it’s healing. Still praying.
I didn’t get up to see the lunar eclipse. I imagine the guys really enjoyed the watch party! I hope they got photos.
I love daffodils and can’t wait to see them growing wild along I-140. I understand you can keep them in pots. Maybe I should buy a couple pots for the front of my apartment.
Have a great weekend.
I was snug in bed and missed the eclipse but I heard it was great!
I’m glad to hear you are doing better now and I will continue to pray you heal well and won’t need antibiotics again.
I love that your menfolk had a night together in nature! How wonderful too that your DiL and son and Timmy brought dinner over. I love BBQ chicken and can’t wait to fire up our grill! Probably if hte rain holds off tomorrow evening, (it’s supposed to be 65 here) we will have bison burgers on the grill for the first time in 2025!
Happy Weekend!
That right there is already a fave: lowkey and pleasant week.
Look at your daffs! So many more to come in that one little patch.
Yes, praying for continued healing.
We had clouds and rain and not enough desire to stay/get up to see the eclipse — nice that you had a mini eclipse party at the RV.
I’m so glad to hear that your doctor thinks that your cellulitis is improving! That has to be such a relief to you. Praying for you as you go through the second round of antibiotics.
What a fun lunar eclipse the guys had! It was like a party! Glad you were able to see part of it.
Glad to hear the cellulitis is improving. Hope it’s soon cleared up without the need for more meds. How fun to have the company to see the eclipse. It would have been very early morning here and – I don’t do early mornings lol. Plus I wouldn’t have been able to see it from the house. Ha yes I wrote about daffodils but when I walked yesterday it felt more like winter again – I even got caught in a hail stone shower it was that cold. Have a good weekend.
I’m always thankful to see daffodils blooming too as a reminder that winter is ending. Although my allergies have been reminding me also that spring is on its way. ha. I’m glad you’re making progress with your cellulitis. Maybe you won’t need that third round of antibiotics. I’m usually quite happy when I finish a round. I didn’t wake up to see the eclipse, but I did spend a couple minutes watching the space station fly by that night (several hours earlier!).
Praise God the cellulitis is on the healing path. Love the daffodils. I always forget to plant those. How fun for the impromptu eclipse watch party. Thanks for inspiration to get to my file cabinet. It’s something I always forget about until I’m in there trying to find something.
