It’s another “Where has this week gone?” kind of Friday. I like to stop for a few minutes to think back through the week and remember the good parts with you all and Susanne and friends at Living to Tell the Story.
1. Summer flowers’ last hurrah. Our cosmos looked about ready to cut back, but then they put out another spectacular round of blooms. The front planters are still looking good, too.
2. Pretty note pads and a book bought with an Amazon gift card from my birthday back in August.
3. A dermatologist visit for the first time. I really liked the person I saw.
4. A haircut coupon for $7.99 for the place we usually go to.
5. Impromptu dinner with the family. A game we pre-ordered for Jesse’s birthday a few weeks ago just arrived Thursday. I texted him to let him know and ask if he wanted to come for dinner as well as to get the game. He said yes, so I checked with Jason and Mittu to see if they were free as well. They were!
It’s hard to believe we’re halfway through October already. Sadly, we’re still not seeing much fall leaf color, but some trees are already bare. Here’s hoping we see some fall foliage before the season is over.

The leaves on my maple tree are just turning yellow and none have fallen so far….vastly different from last year! Color is more muted this year and the weather gal says it’s because of the dry conditions we have had here in NYS along with very mild temps up until this past week. We haven’t even had a hard frost yet in my town! (the mountains did though).
YAY for summer blooms continuing. oddly enough my petunias that i bought with oldest girl on Mothers Day are still going strong!
How fun to have a spontaneous dinner and game night with family.
Enjoy the weekend!
Carroll and I were just talking about our flowers that are still blooming this morning. They are still too pretty to think about clearing the flowerbeds just yet. I haven’t been out yet today, but they may not be as pretty today since we had temps in the low 30s last night.
How fun that you could have an impromptu family night this week! Sometimes I think those are the best kind.
I’m glad you liked the dermatologist you saw. I hope there’s nothing serious going on.
No, nothing serious. Just bothersome. đ
I’m so glad to hear that. Thank you, Barbara, for letting me know.
7.99 for a haircut is awesome! My go-to place has gone to $20 đŚ I got a 9.99 coupon which I was excited about đ It did seem like a fast week. I’m with you; it’s such a good feeling to meet a new medical person and like them.
Family games are always fun! Especially impromptu ones.
I’m also disappointed to see the lack of color this year. Hopefully, it’s still going to happen.
I love Amazon gift cards! I’m glad you found something you really like for yours.
Have a great weekend.
As you know, I think impromptu family get togethers are the best.
Our trees aren’t doing the blazing colors this year, either. And most of them are just now starting to turn and look autumny.
Glad you found a good choice for your Amazon gift card. Have a good week! Willow
Our leaves have been turning but in the past week they have really gotten so much brighter and prettier. I just love getting new note books! I have so many journals…and so much to say.
Wow that was a good deal for a haircut. Impromptu get togethers are lovely. We enjoy playing games together too. Glad you are happy with the dermatologist.
I love pretty stationary! How fun to have an impromptu dinner and games night with family! How nice of the cosmos to put on one more show for you.
Hi Barbara, I am finally have time to visit. I was busy getting ready for my Bible journaling group. I rested yesterday and was busy today. Sounds like you had a great week. I am glad your dermatology appointment well. I saw mine on Wednesday and he said my incision is healing well. That’s a good price for a haircut. I got mine done a week ago and forgot the coupon! Have a great weekend!
