Yuck!

I had a hankering for a burger today, so called my oldest son at work to see if he wanted to bring home some Wendy’s singles when he came home for lunch, which he readily agreed to.

We were eating, chatting, and passing parts of the newspaper back and forth to each other, and I wasn’t really looking at my food. When I had eaten about a third of it, I happened to notice the meat was red.

I don’t know if it is showing up as very red there — but as a confessed germophobe who likes every meat very well done, it kind of grossed me out. I probably should’ve taken it back to Wendy’s — but it’s raining and I didn’t want to go back out. They couldn’t do anything about the part I had already eaten, anyway. I took a picture for evidence. šŸ˜€ Then I zapped it in the microwave until there wasn’t the slightest hint of pink. I like pink, but not in my meat.

I’ve never had this problem with Wendy’s, though I have at other places.

I hope there’s no E coli lurking there!

  1. germophobe huh? You know putting your food in the microwave can cause cancer.

  2. OH NO!!! I don’t eat red meat. Mine used to have be lit on fire and charred black before I’d eat it. I just gave up. I’m sure you’ll be fine, but I don’t blame you for being leary. I”m surprised Wendy’s would under cook. They are usually pretty good. I like the guys comment about the microwave causing cancer. What doesn’t cause cancer? The grill supposedly causes cancer too. How are we supposed to cook our food? Back yard fire pit?
