Bloggy winnings!

I was delighted to receive two items this week that I won recently on various blog contests.

The first was a Scripture tote given away by Paulette at Capturing Today. She’s hosting a giveaway every week until Christmas, with a new item featured on Tuesday and a winner drawn on Saturday.

Secondly, I won a set of four books, the Homeland Heroes set by Donna Fleisher through Deena at A Peek At My Bookshelf.

I had read the first book in the series, Wounded Healer a couple of years ago, a quite suspenseful Christian novel of two very different female friends who are veterans of Desert Storm. (There is a short interview with Donna at the bottom of that link.). I’m going to reread it to remind myself of what was going on, then continue to the sequels.

  3. Hey Barbara! It’s strange seeing my autograph on a blog! But cool, too. I’m so glad you won, and I hope you enjoy the rest of Chris and Erin’s story. : )

    Yep, with the release of Standing Strong, my writing career (for now) is done. The end didn’t really come about with much drama — I simply ran out of ideas for new stories! Zondervan waited as long as they could for me to come up with something, then, when I did, they didn’t really care for it. So, we’ve cancelled the contract and that’s it. I’m done. They’re done with me. And we’re both happy about it.

    Sometimes that’s just the way things go. I’m looking forward to working from the other side of the pen now, as a freelance editor. So, I’m still in it, just from a different angle. Works for me. : )
