Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt: Old-fashioned

Theme: Old-fashioned | Become a Photo Hunter

This theme reminds me of a song on a Mandy Patinkin CD that I have which has the line, “I’m old-fashioned, but I don’t mind it.” πŸ™‚ I tend to be old-fashioned in a lot of my tastes and views. The only things I’m terribly modern about are my appliances and technology.

I thought of using my show and tell post from yesterday about an old raisin rack and a cross-stitched sampler as double duty today since they’re very old-fashioned. But I decided to go with something different, though this picture also did appear on a previous show and tell post.

I love old-fashioned looking jewelry, and these are a few of my favorites. None was very expensive; all but two were gifts. But I just love how they look.

The one on the center bottom row with the pink roses and pearls is from a company called 1928. I love their Vintage Collection.
I also like the old-fashioned look of the Battenburg lace on the dresser scarf above.

  1. I too ! these are lovely pieces ! I see your Photo Hunt is already up, mine too, but here it is saturday since a few hours. I found this word quite difficult because “old fashioned” and antiques are sometimes borderline.

  2. Aren’t these lovely? I have a cameo that my mother gave me when I was a young girl, more than fifty years ago. Excellent choice for the theme. Thanks for visiting.

  3. I almost……….ALMOST posted photos of my cameos. Wow….are these great, or what? I love your photo hunt. Of course, I’m partial to cameos [at one time when I began my online experiences, my nickname was cameolady!]

    Thanks for the visit!!!!

  4. I also like old looking jewelry too. I have some of my grandmothers and back still from her. I like the 1928 too…Thanks for stopping by..Sandy

  12. I love the blue cameo. I wore one once (not as nice as that) on a velvet ribbon around my throat, the old-fashioned way, and many people complimented me on it. I think cameos are so unique and stylish!
