Susanne at Living to Tell the Story hosts a “Friday Fave Five” in which we share our five favorite things from the past week. Click on the button to read more of the details, and you can visit Susanne to see the list of others’ favorites or to join in.
1. My Birthday Lunch. I mentioned my birthday last week — but right at the beginning of it, so we hadn’t really celebrated it. Our custom is to let the birthday honoree chose a place or a special dish for dinner. We chose to go out for lunch this time because Jason had to work that evening, so we went to Fatz’s.

2. My birthday cake. I LOVE Texas Sheet Cake but for some reason just never made one — we pretty much have cake only around birthdays. But Jeremy made one for my birthday!

3. Pink office supplies. I don’t know why — they just make me happy. 🙂

4. Storage units for my craft/sewing/guest room.

5. New books!

Thank you to my family for all you did to make it a great day for me!
Bonus:
I mentioned it yesterday, but our church held a nice reception for Jason and Mittu Sunday night.
And we don’t have the wedding pictures yet, but we did get this one:

I can’t wait to see the rest!!
Happy Friday!
Ohhhhhhhhhhh . . . I just ooohhhed and aaahhhed over all your pink office supplies and craft storage. You hit the jackpot! 🙂 Now you’ll really have fun getting everything sorted and organized!
Love the wedding picture – so sweet.
Forgot to mention that you’ll love With the Word. I use it with my devotions, and it has really enhanced my understanding of some things and how the Bible fits all together. I’m thinking it’ll really be nice when I get into those long books of prophecy to help keep the train of thought.
WOOT…Loved the pictures and boy you sure did make out with some great gifts. The cake was excellent and so was the wedding photo. Great week you had my friend. Much Aloha 🙂
What a wonderful birthday you had!!! Pink office supplies – who knew? Love the embellishment center.
LOVE the pink office supplies!! It looks like your birthday was a good one. And that picture of the newlyweds is just gorgeous. This is a wonderful list you shared 🙂
Whoooo hooooo! LOOK at all that PINK! Wow! Your room is going to be sooooo pretty! I LOVE that scrapping spice rack! (the embellishment center) That is a great idea! And I have never had (nor heard of) Texas sheet cake… I’ll have to google it! It’s chocolate though – so it looks good to me!
Have you read other books in the Harmony series? I love Gulley almost as much as I love Jan Karon! I wish there were more to his series!
You really raked in the pink office supplies! LOL. I had no idea one could get pink file cabinets.
My Heart Remembers is an awesome story. Loved it. Enjoy that stack of wonderful books.
Sweet picture from the wedding.
A nice birthday tradition you have. Love the cake made by Jeremy. I love office supplies too. You got many wonderful gifts! Enjoy.
What a lovely party and so many thoughtful gifts for your special day!
Looks as if you had a wonderful birthday.
Happy belated Birthday to you. 🙂
Great gifts! I didn’t know you could get pink filing cabinets either. I love the Embellishment Center. I see you had some of my favorite cake, Texas Sheet Cake! Had to be a good day …
Barbara! You indeed had a wonderful birthday celebration, hm? I’m so happy for you! And I didn’t know that they made so many pink office supplies!
AND I was just looking through some old church cookbooks that I have and saw the Texas sheetcake recipe in one of them and thought I was just gonna have to bake one of those sometime soon. Maybe the Sept. ladies’ meeting because that is too much cake for just me and Ed! 🙂
What is a Texas sheetcake?
Looks like a wonderful BD! I love all the pink things, and I love the wedding pic 🙂
You looked so happy. I like that wall cabinet for ribbons and things. I’ve seen those on other’s sights. So, I guess one of the colors in your studio is going to be pink.
We do the same about the Birthday person picking the food or resturant. Too bad Grandma didn’t feel like joining you.
Mama Bear
Fun times Barbara! Look at all your great gifts. You must have felt blessed! I love having family around for birthdays. My computer wasn’t working until just a little while ago. So I can finally leave comments…
Oh dear. I am certain this is way wrong. I am coveting your embellishment center!
With the Word is such a great book! I had one and loved it and my pastor friend did, too. So I gave mine to her thinking I would get another, only our local Christian Store had none in stock. Only just now looking at your did it occur to me I should have looked online!
what a great b-day celebration! You and I are the same age 🙂
The wedding picture looks sweet.
Thanks for dropping by my blog!
This post is gorgeous! Love the photos! Love everything. The last picture made me shed a tear or two (I’m a hopeless romantic). Thanks for sharing, Barbara!
