Here are a few interesting reads from the last week or so:
Why Should I Surrender to God?
There Really Is a Reason: 12 Benefits of Affliction.
I’m Just Not Wired That Way. Probably the most balanced post about introversion I’ve seen.
Finding Encouragement and Community as an Old-er Woman.
Self-promotion, Humility, and the Christian Writer.
Hope you have a great weekend! It’s supposed to be a rainy one here, and I’m trying to decide which of my “things to do” I should work on.
Loved the Disciplined Eating. As someone who struggles with food, I’m sure I’ll be referring back to it.
Have a great week ahead!
Well, the wired article was good for me to read. I was encouraged that he mentioned balance and glorifying God no matter how we’re wired. That whole book thang has hurt my feelings immensely…since he had opened the thread and said in the comments he’s writing from the extrovert perspective soon…I did share a comment with him. Here’s hoping that people won’t consider extroverts hopeless, shallow spiritual wells forever.
In all that I have read about introverts, I haven’t seen anything that suggested that extroverts were “hopeless, shallow spiritual wells.” In fact in this article he commends the guy who witnessed while on the plane while he said he probably would have gone into book mode and not even thought about witnessing. All I have read suggests that each is just differently spiritual, not that either is less spiritual. The book I am reading now suggests that church life is set up more for extroverts and gives ways introverts can be a part without having to just deny how they’re wired to fit in. What book are you talking about?
I was referring to “Quiet: the power of introverts…” I liked Cortez blog and article…sorry I gave an impression otherwise. Please delete my comment.
