Friday’s Fave Five

It’s Friday, time to look back over the blessings of the week with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and other friends.

Here are some highlights of the last week or so:

1. Nice temperatures, mostly in the 60s, some cloudy skies but some sunshiny days, too. A great week weather-wise!

2. A church potluck. The church we have been visiting had an anniversary potluck dinner last week. I love potlucks – always good food. 🙂 And a good way to get to know people.

3. Mittu’s birthday. Always nice to celebrate our daughter-in-law. 🙂

I had to smile at the party plates Timothy (3 1/2) picked out for his mommy:

4. Shopping and lunch with my husband. We’re still looking for living room furniture, so we did that Saturday morning. I like that we can have fun no matter what we’re doing.

5. Girl Scout Cookies! It’s that time of year again!

Bonus: Getting a new high score on HQ Trivia! Maybe some day I’ll get all twelve questions.

All in all a good week. We’ve enjoyed the Olympics, but we’re glad they’re winding down.

Happy Friday!

  1. happy birthday to your pretty daughter in law…how cute that Timmy chose his superhero plates!!

Yay for GirlScout cookies….i bought a couple boxes but they haven’t come in yet!!

Love those productive shopping trips with hubby. Post some pics of your new furniture!!

    Happy weekend!!

    • We haven’t bought any furniture yet. 🙂 We’ve taken pictures of the ones that caught our eye and need to decide if we want to look at any of them again or keep looking at other stores.

  2. Such wonderful blessings this week, Barbara. I’m glad that you were able to enjoy the pot-luck at the church you’ve been visiting. It does help you to get to know the people better. And I love the plates that Timothy picked out for his mommy’s birthday! It reminds me of when our grandson was about the same age as Timothy. I had flown to Mexico City around mine and his mother’s birthdays. He was so excited to give Mommy her present that he chose…Candyland! 🙂 And I loved reading your comment about the furniture shopping and lunch out and being able to have fun together no matter what you are doing. There are a lot of marriages (and Christian I might add) that cannot say that. You are a blessing. Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Good morning friend! Looks like your blog is ready for spring time!
It’s always wonderful to celebrate our loved ones. We hope to get with our oldest this next week for her birthday but her schedule is so tight she probably won’t be able to!
Shopping for furniture an be fun but is sometimes stressful to me. I don’t like to make decorating decisions.
I avoid those little girls standing outside Wal-Mart wit their little boxes of treats. I get started on those thin mints and all my time in the gym will be wasted! 🙂 I’ve been out now 2 weeks any way with vacation and illness. Hope to get back next week.
Our weather here has been strange. We are having flash flooding today. Temps in the 40’s to 50’s. Spring isn’t far off I think.
Hope you have a great weekend!!! I’m off to tackle some home projects!

  4. Happy Birthday to Mittu! I think Timothy chose just the right plates and napkins for his super mom!
Hope you are still having some warmer weather. We’re sunny again today but quite cool–the weatherman says we’ll have ‘rain’ tomorrow. Not holding my breath.

  5. Happy belated birthday to Mittu! Is purple her favorite color? The plates are perfect! Hubby and I enjoy shopping together for things for the house too. It’s the being together.

  6. I’ve been away for too many weeks, and I’m glad to catch up with your faves. Love Timothy’s choices 😉 So glad you had nice weather. Those temperatures sound like ours, only we call it “cold”!

I love hearing from you. I've had to turn on comment moderation. Comments will appear here after I see and approve them.
