Friday’s Fave Fives

It’s Friday, time to look back over the blessings of the week with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and other friends.

Though it has been a great week, at first I had trouble pinning down five specific favorites items. But that’s one thing the FFF is great for: making the time to think over the week and recount the blessings. And if some of these are “repeats,” that’s fine – it’s good to be thankful for them as often as they occur!

1. My oldest son is visiting! It’s not only good to see him and spend time with him, but we also have extra time with the whole family when he’s here.

2. Spring days. Finally in the last couple of days it has started to feel like spring. Sunshine, nice temperatures, cool breezes. I see one more night in the 30s in next week’s forecast, but hopefully spring is here to stay. We especially enjoyed hanging around in the back yard yesterday evening while Timothy played.

3. Dogwoods budding! For some reason the buds in this picture came out darker than real life, and my attempts to lighten the photo distorted it, so I left it.

In addition, the new little tree we planted last fall, that has just looked like bare sticks for months, is sprouting some new baby leaves.

4. Lunch at my son and daughter in law’s with the family. Always fun to spend time there.

5. Plans and preparations. A certain little someone’s birthday is coming up soon! And we have a few more family activities planned while everyone is here.

Happy Friday!

    • I had forgotten to put “Friday’s Fave Fives” in the title, so a number was assigned automatically. I added that later, but that doesn’t change the number designation unless I change the url. If I change the url, then places like Feedly or other blog aggregators would still have the old one, and then if people clicked on it, it would show the link wasn’t working – so I left it. πŸ™‚

  1. oh how nice to have your oldest son visit and wonderful to have lunch with the whole family.

YAY for spring time temperatures!!! Same here today. FINALLY!!

I hope you have a marvelous weekend.

  2. Always good to have family time. The garden certainly thinks it’s spring here but the weather hasn’t really reflected that but next week’s forecast looks much better. Can’t wait! Enjoy your weekend.

  3. Love your dogwood photo! After what seems like a long long winter, any signs of spring are very welcome πŸ™‚ I’ll be excited to see photos of the upcoming birthday celebration!

  4. Visits from kids is the very best! Enjoy your weekend with him and with that little someone’s birthday!
I remember visiting Tennessee during ‘dogwood season’. It’s a beautiful time when the dogwood trees bloom!

  5. How nice that you had lots of family time this week! Visits from kids who have moved away are always special. I don’t think we have dogwoods around here. I haven’t seen any greenery yet around here but it was a lovely weekend for weather. Hopefully soon! Enjoy that party planning!

  6. I”m so glad that your son was able to be with you and the family …especially because of the celebrating of Timothy’s birthday! That little guy is growing up fast! About those spring days…we had five of them in a row last week and this morning we are watching the snow come down. πŸ™‚

  7. It’s hard to believe that Timothy is celebrating another birthday already! The time just goes too fast. Spring is slowly overtaking winter here, but there is a bit of snow in the forecast for Friday:( Nice to have time with your son! That family time is precious indeed.

I love hearing from you. I've had to turn on comment moderation. Comments will appear here after I see and approve them.
