Fridays Fave Five

It’s Friday, time to look back over the blessings of the week with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and other friends.

Another week is almost down for the count. Here are some of the best parts of it:

1. Roses blooming. My rose bushes have been leafing and budding for weeks and they finally exploded.

2. Sitting on the patio. My dear husband has been hard at work getting the patio cleaned up and ready for usage. We enjoyed sitting out there last Sunday night as Timothy drove his little car around. The weather has been gorgeous most of the week.

3. A quiet week. For me, anyway. Jim had to travel a couple of days, but I didn’t have anything extra on the schedule this week, and I was able to put some quality time into some projects.

4. Books. I could list them as favorites every week. 🙂 But for some reason I seemed to make more headway with a couple than I have been able to for a while (maybe because of #3).

5. Meatloaf is one of my favorite meals, but we don’t have it very often because we only eat red meat occasionally, and lean ground beef doesn’t go on sale very often. But I snagged some a while back. We enjoyed it one night this week. Then, one of my favorite lunches is to take leftover meatloaf and put it in a grilled cheese sandwich. Yum!

Happy Friday!

  1. Ahh, that meatloaf sandwich looks divine!! Your roses are gorgeous, and I’m so glad you could enjoy watching sweet Timothy from that nice patio.

  2. That is a beautiful photo of your roses. I love how you can see the shadows on the pavement. Our roses here in southwest Idaho are just beginning to bud. No blooms yet. My husband’s favorite kind of sandwich is cold meat loaf. He also loves grilled cheese, so I know he would enjoy your yummy-looking sandwich. Quiet times with books are fantastic!

    Have a blessed weekend,

  3. That sandwich looks yummy. Nice to have some quiet time now and again and be able to slow down and catch a breath. I’m fortunate that now I’m retired I can do that more often. Have a good weekend.

  4. Oh the flowers are wonderful!!! I used to make meatloaf all the time!! We loved it. We no longer eat beef though and the bison is great for burgers, chili, and pasta meat sauce but as meatloaf it is too dry. ( there’s no grease with bison cause there’s no fat!) your sandwich looks delish!

I love books too and read every night. I also love sitting outside. We have a deck not a patio. It must be warmer where you live….here in eastern NY our roses aren’t ready yet. I love all the spring blooms!
Happy weeekend and Happy Mothers Day

  5. Reading ought to be on my FFF list every week as well. I can’t imagine a day without books (and knitting). I’m glad you had that quiet week.
Your roses truly are exploding with beauty!
    Have a great weekend–Happy Mother’s Day!

  6. Meatloaf in a grilled cheese…never thought of that but it sounds yummy! So nice to be out and sitting on patios, isn’t it? And your roses look lovely.
