Friday’s Fave Five

friday fave five 12

It’s Friday, time to look back over the blessings of the week with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and other friends.

Hard to believe we’re at the last FFF of February! 1/6 of the year will be over in a few days! Here are some of my favorite parts of the last week:

1. Valentine’s Day observed. We celebrated late because my husband was traveling on Feb. 14.

2. Being treated at a restaurant. My son, daughter-in-law, and grandson treated us to lunch last Saturday at a favorite Mexican food restaurant of theirs that we hadn’t tried yet.

3. Lunch with a friend. Always good to catch up and fellowship.

4. Signs of spring.

5. Humor. We’ve been having a lot of rain here in TN. That has led to some humorous memes floating around Facebook:

I am thankful the temperatures have not been low enough for all this moisture to freeze. And when we had a couple of hours of sunshine one morning, I looked out the window and soaked it in. But I’ll be glad for sunnier skies and dryer weather, hopefully next week.

By the way, I reviewed and will be giving away a book called Journaling for the Soul here if you are interested.

  1. What a wonderful list of faves Barbara! I love all your photos but especially the ones of the green buds!! I have a friend (2 actually) who live outside Nashville and i. Did see something about a lot of rain. Those comics were funny. Hopefully you will see sunnier skies this weekend. Have a blessed day.

  2. Barbara, your Valentine’s Day heart-shaped cupcakes are so pretty! How kind of your son, daughter-in-law, and grandson to treat you and your husband to a meal out over the weekend. 🙂 I am sure Timothy loved that! I enjoyed seeing your signs of spring.

  3. Happy weekend to you! Yum, those chocolate heart … brownies? look so good! I LOVE signs of spring. I’ll have to go look in my front flower bed to see if anything is trying to push through the frozen ground yet. I kind of doubt it, but you never know. Especially with the increasing daylight!

  4. This is a great list, Barbara. Those cupcakes look divine, and I wish I had one right now to enjoy with my morning coffee. Yes, I do have cupcakes for breakfast, but not very often.Thank you for sharing your signs of Spring!

  5. I’m not surprised to see all those hearts in your Valentine celebration! Looks like a fun belated Valentine’s Day. People really get creative to express themselves when enduring rain or snow. Too funny. Hope you have a good weekend!

  6. Your valentine treats look delicious and I think celebrating after the actual day is probably a good move – I’m sure on the day restaurants are usually overcrowded, possibly overpriced and sometimes the service isn’t great either. I loved your funny pictures about the rain – especially the one with the submarine. Hope the weather is improving and you have a good weekend.

  7. ADORABLE CUPCAKES! How nice that you celebrated together 🙂 I was just noticing how wet your garden beds look (with the green beginnings poking through) and then came to all the funnies about rain in TN. Didn’t y’all have a record wet year last year, too?!

  8. I had to scroll really fast past those chocolate goodies–I swear I gain weight just looking at them!
The glimpses of green truly are wonderful promises of spring. All that rain just means more green later in the spring, right? (I’m trying hard to be positive about your rain.)
    Have a sunny weekend!

  9. I laughed at all those memes though I know the situation is serious in some areas and pray for those affected. We too have a myriad of memes floating around with extreme cold as the focus. We are in yet another extreme cold warning this morning. -38*C (-36*F). Brrr. Two lunches out in one week. How nice. I’ll go for Mexican anytime!

I love hearing from you. I've had to turn on comment moderation. Comments will appear here after I see and approve them.
