It’s Friday, time to look back over the blessings of the week with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and other friends.
Here are a few of my favorite things from the last week:
1. Lunch with a friend. A joyous time of talking together and a wonderful lunch – an entree I had not tried before and loved. (So much, in fact, that I ordered it again yesterday when my son and I got take-out to bring home!)
2. A church potluck. Good stuff, good times. Added bonus: I’ll spare you the details, but I had to adjust what I was making from the recipe’s instructions to work around the time constraints, and I was concerned about it being not done enough or overdone. But it came out just right! Thank you, Lord!
3. Time with the grandson while his parents went out on a date. Among other things, he and his granddad made slime and put together and flew a balsa wood plane. His parents brought over frozen mini tacos and Mexican rice for an easy dinner (and one that he likes).
4. Getting some “extra” cleaning tasks done – those that are occasional rather than weekly or monthly.
5. Pill sorters. Sometimes it’s the little things. I used to keep a running list of what pill I was taking at what time, otherwise I could never remember. I used one of these containers that divides your medicine into different days of the week for a trip, and I have been using it ever since.
Bonus: The first day of spring! One of my favorite days of the year! Even though this winter was not as bad as previous ones, there were enough bone-chilling cold days and bleak landscapes to make me long for spring. I don’t have my spring decorations out just yet – hopefully this weekend.
Happy Friday!
I’m glad you had lunch out with a friend this week and that you tried something new and really enjoyed it! I tend to order the same things all the time so next time we eat out I think I will try something new.
It looks as if Timothy and his granddad had a good time when he was over this week! I loved seeing the pictures.
Getting those “extra” cleaning tasks done is always a bonus. I hope to finish up in our bedroom today and tomorrow and then I will have just one room downstairs to tackle with the extras.
Spring has been lovely this week…but I see snow flurries coming down right now. 🙂
Lunches with friends are such a treat. I have several friends that I “lunch” with now and then — really, it is like free therapy to me. I’m so glad you got to do that this week! I just love all the things you and your husband do with Timothy. He is such a loved child. I, too, love the first day of spring. So much hope abounds.
Oh, I love your spring header image. Spring is my favorite season, too, though I don’t have special decorations. Mini tacos and rice — what a perfect easy meal to accompany play time. Your food discoveries and solutions make great faves 🙂
oh I love trying new entrees. It’s getting harder now that I”m mostly plant based….so many restaurants still aren’t on board with serving entrees minus meat/animal fats. UGH. But when I come across one, I try it! Glad you found a good meal with a friend.
Oh how fun to do the slime and airplane with grandpa. That wil lbe a good memory for little Timothy. MMMM….mini tacos and mexican rice…sounds good!
I’m SO thankful Spring has Sprung!! (although day got colder again!!)
Oh, yes, I don’t know where I would be without my pill sorter! Great fave!
Lunch out with friends is always an uplifting blessing in a week. Now I’m curious what entree you had. LOL. What a fun thing to do with Timothy. Such a precious time. I need to get on those “extra” cleaning tasks! Maybe the nicer weather will be a motivator.
A good group of favorites for the week. I’m way behind in visiting and hope this new week is going well for you!
