Friday’s Fave Five

It’s Friday, time to count the blessings of the week
with Susanne and other friends at Living to Tell the Story.

Does time speed up in December? Sure seems like it! Here are some highlights from this busy week.

1. A pretty snowfall that didn’t impact roads much and was mostly gone in a day. Snow is not my favorite thing, but I couldn’t deny this was pretty.

2. Christmas decorations for the porch. I’ve long wanted something Christmasy on the table of our front porch. I had a couple of gift cards for Hobby Lobby, so I wandered around there for a while and came up with this:

I originally wanted one cardinal, but couldn’t find any in the Christmas section. I found a pack of three in the floral area, and now I am glad to have more than one.

3. Feeling better. I woke up Thursday morning feeling pretty awful and thinking I would probably have to go in to see the doctor. I spent most of the morning resting, and by lunchtime was pretty much back to normal. Such a relief on a busy week.

4. Lunch with a friend at Cracker Barrel. One of my favorite people and one of my favorite places!

5. Harvest Loaf Cake. I think I mention this every December, but it’s a favorite every year!

What’s a highlight from your week?

  1. Indeed snow pictures look nice, but I don’t like snow either ! Fortunately you felt better, so many people are sick. I think I was bitten by a tse tse fly, because I am always tired ! (and lazy)

  2. I almost bought that Noel sign for my living room!! I love what you did with it. And cardinals are my absolute fave birds besides loons.

The snow looks so pretty. Ours is just about gone due to rain and warm temps here in eastern New York. But then again we had 21 inches from last week’s storm!

Glad you felt better by lunch time! A true blessing! I’m fighting a scratchy throat that I’m sure my preschool students shared with me.

    Have a restful weekend!

  3. The Noel decoration is perfect! And the cardinals add so much to it.
I’m glad you are feeling ok again. I know that resting is really important for healing.
Time with friends at a favorite place is really special.
    Happy Weekend to you!

  4. We got a little of that snow too, but probably less than you did. We weren’t expecting even that much though, so it was a pleasant surprise. 🙂 It was enough to delay schools for a couple hours Wednesday morning.

  5. Love your little porch display. The snow is very pretty and glad it didn’t turn slippery. Lunch out with a friend is always a treat. Glad you were feeling better fairly quickly.

I love hearing from you. I've had to turn on comment moderation. Comments will appear here after I see and approve them.
