Friday’s Fave Five

On Fridays I like to press the pause button for a few moments with Susanne and friends to reflect on some of the blessings of the week.

1. A quiet week after a busy one.

2. A portable phone charger. My phone battery needs recharging in the middle of the day. Our chargers are in hard-to-unplug places behind end tables and nightstands, so I couldn’t easily transfer them to my desk or the kitchen. I’ve had to leave my phone in another room to recharge during the middle of the day. I asked for and received a portable phone battery charger to use at my desk. Works great!.

3. Pink charging cables. My husband knows my pink-loving heart.

4. Encouragement from a more experienced writer.

5. Sleep, for whatever reason, is sometimes elusive in “middle age.” But this week I’ve fallen asleep early most nights and gotten back to sleep pretty easily after waking up during the night.

What’s something good from our week?

  1. Thank you for saying we are middle aged, Barbara. My daughter, sometime back, informed me, “Mom. You’re old. Not middle aged. Old.” The bluntness of our offspring. 🙂 –Ann

  2. I’ve never tried a portable charger but would love one, especially after your good experience! Good news here — my husband retired and somehow in that process I was dropped from medical insurance. After hours of calls and much effort, finally this afternoon I am again insured 🙂

  3. I’m glad you got the charging issue sorted. Phones seem to need charging more often than ever! Yes sleep is indeed a blessing. I wake most nights and sometimes it is hard to get back to sleep. Enjoy your weekend.

  4. I don’t take a good night’s rest for granted anymore. It’s certainly something to celebrate. Having an extra charger makes life a lot simpler. You mentioned in my post about being envious of our weather. Well — they’re predicting snow for Tuesday:( Let’s hope the forecast changes.

  5. When I do my Blog tour around the world, lots of people all over have not a normal sleep, me included ! I wake up several times ! Apparently it’s do to the lockdown and this not very normal life. Besides visiting friends or family there is nothing going on besides visiting a museum ! You can’t even travel where you want to ! It’s really a strange life !

  6. Ooh…..my daughter has a portable charger at work and loves it. Glad you got one! So handy!

Yay for good nights sleep in our middle age!!! 60 is the new 40 according to my oldest daughter!! I’m claiming that word! 😀

Love quiet weeks after busy ones.

    Enjoy the long weekend

  7. We love our portable chargers. They’re especially handy if we are hiking or camping.
    I agree on quiet weeks!
Middle aged–I want to redefine that to include ones in the 70s and 80s.
    Have a great holiday weekend.

  8. Sweet of your hubby to get you pink charging cables. Might as well have them pretty as they do their job. A sleep thru the night and a good rest are a definite blessing. How nice you were able to be encouraged by another writer! The older I get the more I am liking the quieter weeks.

I love hearing from you. I've had to turn on comment moderation. Comments will appear here after I see and approve them.
