Some weeks overflow with blessings. For others, we might have to search a bit. But I am thankful for this weekly exercise to appreciate and thank God for the good things He brings into our lives with Susanne and friends at Living to Tell the Story.
1. A quiet week. No appointments or outside obligations besides the usual. I love a quiet week at home.
2. An offer for dinner out. I love when my husband asks “Do you want to get something out for dinner tonight?”
3. New Bible study and Sunday School classes have started for the fall session at church. We’re going over selected psalms on Sunday morning and delving into 2 Corinthians Wednesday evenings.
4. A published devotional. Christian Devotions has published a short piece I submitted titled Adequate Shelter.
5. Things that make me smile. This is a screenshot from a reel on Instagram. I think I’d have a shot at this competition. 🙂
How was your week?

HA! yes that’s an olympic sport I’d excel at!! cute!!
I love a quiet week…..I have a nice quiet weekend coming up with just one obligation on Monday for some family time…which isn’t really an obligation!
I love it when my hubby, too, asks if we should order out…or go out…although we ARE cutting back on that……
Our church will start up our Fall Semester of ministries, small groups, classes, etc the week of Sept 8th. This Sunday is our Connect Weekend where those of us who are small group leaders will be at tables in the lobby promoting our groups and talking to people interested in joining our groups or classes, etc. We usually have about 10-30 different small groups and classes to choose from each semester. Now that I’m retired I can join the daytime women’s bible study!! And I will continue to lead my own book group.
I hope you have a lovely long weekend, Barbara.
I can’t tell if my comment went through!!

I enjoyed your fave fives! I enjoy quiet weeks. This week’s activity was moderate. Next week is free until the end of the week. Then we need to get together for lunch! Yes, I think you would definitely qualify for the gold medal in reading. I get most of my book recommendations from you!
Have a great weekend!
Congratulations on the publication of your awesome devotional! I love quiet weeks too. Hope you have wonderful weekend!
Hi Barbara, I like that idea of reading as a sport! I do a lot of reading when I am studying for my Bible journaling class. I try to do some leisure reading too. My church groups come back on the 9th, and it will be back to reading for those groups. Have a great weekend!
Ha ha, finally a sport I could compete in 🙂 I love quiet weeks too. This was not a quiet week here as you can imagine. But things are calming down. Congrats on being published!
Congratulations on your published article in the devotional! I enjoyed reading it.
And I loved the last picture you shared. I would definitely be part of that Olympics! 🙂
I have always quiet weeks, more or less because with our activities it’s not so quiet. But at least I don’t have to worry anymore about paper work and administration ! The only invoice I have to pay is the monthly pension !
If reading was an Olympic sport, I think I’d be a contender. 😀
I too would excel at that Olympic sport, but I know I would be up against some great competition (like you!).
I’m glad you had a quiet week. And a dinner out.
I will check out that devotional.
Have a good week. Willow
I love a quiet week. Dinner out was one of my faves this week, too.
I’m attending a new Bible Study this fall, too. I’m excited to get started!
Looking forward to reading your devotional.
Hahaha I think I could compete if reading were an event. Funny. I love quiet weeks. They are so few and far between. I’ll be joining a new study this fall. I’m excited and yet a bit nervous to be a new person in the group. How wonderful that one of your devotionals was published!
