Heart collection

Kelli from There’s no place like home has begun a “Show and Tell Friday.” She says, “Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, a new antique find, an old love letter. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there’s a story behind your special something, that’s even better!

If you would like to join in, all you have to do is post your “Show and Tell” on your blog, copy the post link, come over here and add it to Mr. Linky.”

I thought it was a lovely idea! I decided to show my collection of heart-shaped things — I hope it is ok to show a collection rather than just one thing. This is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. These have been collected over the years: some were gifts, some were souvenirs, some were just found treasures.

I have a few shelves with pegs like this for heart-shaped ornaments to hang from. The one on the right is a souvenir from Charleston, SC.

Heart collection
Various heart-shaped things or things with hearts on them collected through the years, many of these from craft shows. The hanging ornament on the left is a souvenir from Charleston, SC.

The little wooden houses have hearts on them. I love the house shaped potholder with the heart in it — couldn’t use it for it’s designated purpose because it was too pretty for that! That design reminds me of Psalm 101:2b: “I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.” That’s a very convicting verse, but so needed.

A button wreath I made.

Heart collection
A little heart-shaped vase, but it looks lovely without flowers.

Heart-shaped shelves from Home Interiors ages ago.

Little shabby chic planter from ebay.

Heart-shaped jewelry.

Heart-shaped serving platter.

  1. How very lovely! I love all your heart shaped things. My mother also collected heart shaped items of all sorts — and your post and pictures today reminded me of her. Thank you.

  2. Oh, I am in heart heaven! I’m so glad you shared your collection with us! I love the doilies and heart shaped candles…so pretty! The button wreath with the cameo at the bottom is beautiful! Wow! My mother-in-law has the same “B” heart necklace and she wears it quite often. Thank you for joining in Show and Tell!

  3. No wonder you wanted to share this collection, Barbara. It’s amazing. It’s all wonderful but I think my favorite thing is the little heart shaped candles.

  4. All of your hearts are lovely. Thanks for sharing.

I have the same set of 3) wooden hearts with the mirrors in them too.
I think they might be Home Interiors.
I like the heart doilies too.

I also love your wall pocket that is filled with flowers. I have 3 different wall pockets all filled with flowers.

I may have to show one of my collections next Friday for show and tell.

Thanks for stopping by my site and commenting. I like new visitors.

I will be back to your site too.

  5. I love all your hearts! There must be a lot of love in a house like yours. I have tons and tons of heart shaped jewlery. I realized it years ago when I started teaching and found I could wear heart earrings every day from Feb 1st through the 14th without repeating. Since they, I have gained A LOT more. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for coming over to see my show and tell too. Good to meet you.

  6. I guess I’m not the only one to collect hearts! 🙂 But my collection would have to start with our wedding rings – we have matching heart-shaped diamond bands.

  7. Love your collection! The only thing collecting around here at the moment is dust – not very photogenic. But, as soon as I’m feeling a bit more nimble, I’ll have to snap some pictures of a few of my collectibles, too! They aren’t nearly as pretty as yours, I’m afraid. Have a fabulous weekend!

  18. Wow! I heart hearts! And our wallpaper is so very very close to being identical. How funny! I see it on tv shows and commercials at times too. I love the shabby chic!!!
