Doesn’t that sound bizarre?
What made it seem even more so was that I had just finished making some phone calls on the couch, had just gotten up to leave the room, and was close to the door when the doorbell rang, so it startled me. Jim was in the next room and didn’t know I was in the living room, so he came around the corner, and I accidentally startled him. So we were both a little rattled anyway when we received this strange request.
My first thought was, “I’ve never heard a P.I. ask that on TV,” followed by, “How private is it if you’re telling us?”
Jim told her it was a public street and she could park there if she wanted to. She said she just wanted to let us know what she was doing.
So for the rest of the evening I felt self-conscious every time I walked in front of the living room windows or turned a light on in a room on that side of the house, feeling like someone was watching.
Of course we wonder who she is investigating. Jim said maybe she was just trying to hitch onto our Internet signal.
I don’t know. Weird!
Stray Thoughts 
How strange… I would be self-conscious too if a P.I. suddenly shows up at my doorstep asking if he/she could do the same thing. I’d probably “hide” in my studyroom and pretended nothing happened…
That IS weird. Doesn’t sound too ‘private’ to me! Did she have credentials or anything?
I don’t think she showed any. Jim answered the door — I was wishing I had seen her so I’d recognize her if she was in the neighborhood again. But I was very glad he was here to answer the door tonight — he’s been out of town all week, and I probably would have been even more rattled if it happened when he wasn’t home.
It all seemed so strange at the time, but now I am more curious as to what it was all about.

How odd I hope she wasn’t casing the place. I would have asked for ID I think and then called to make sure she was legit. I can imagine how you felt. Maybe it was Internet.
I just remembered we do have a neighborhood police officer who drives through the subdivision at times. In the morning I might see if Jim wants to touch base with him and see if he has seen any ladies sitting out in their cars for extended periods of time and if he knows what it is all about.
I think the contacting the police thing is an excellent idea. This story just sounds too odd.
Very interesting and a bit weird too… if it had been me, I probably would have just kinda said: umm, sure. But then for the rest of the evening, I would have been kicking myself for not asking her a whole raft of questions. You’ll have to keep us gals out here informed if you learn anything new. We’re all intrigued now☺

That does sound very odd! The only time I’ve had PIs at my door they have wanted to come in and ask questions about this or that neighbor who was seeking security clearance at one level or another. WHY in the WORLD would someone working undercover INFORM you they were there? But your Hubby’s response was good — it’s a PUBLIC street – do what ya want! Craziness…
