“To give thanks is not the same as ‘feeling thankful.’
To give thanks in the midst of pain and problems is to take a step of faith based on the command of 1 Thessalonians 5:18: God tells us to give thanks in all circumstances
(not just those we can handle or feel on top of).
For what things can you give thanks, even while you’re hurting?“
Joni Eareckson Tada,
A Thankful Heart in a World of Hurt
Though the world is full of trouble, and we have trials and problems,
God has given us much to be thankful for.
He is with those who believe on Him
and promises to give us everything we need.
He blesses us beyond measure.
Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving! Have a blessed day! 🙂
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving as well!
A blessed Thanksgiving to you, Barbara!
In His family, Marjorie Goertzen
I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving!
Thank you!
Thank you and the very same to you
Thanks so much! 🙂
I like the quote of Joni’s and she is definitely a wonderful example of what she speaks.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
I agree about Joni. I hope you and your husband had a nice Thanksgiving!
Happy THanksgiving Barbara!!! I’ve had to learn to be thankful in whatever God sends my way. Sometimes it’s easier than other times but there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for.
Amen. Sometimes later we realize it was for the best that He said “no” to some of our requests. But we’re blessed in so many ways.
And to your family, also, Barbara. We read part of George Washington’s proclamation in 1789 establishing Thanksgiving and I love the phrase, “That we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks…”
That would be a good proclamation even for today.
