Not the most creative picture, but you do see lots of these kinds of lines of traffic this time of year.

I thought this week’s theme was a little odd, and maybe a little Scrooge-ish for this time of year, but I’ve been greatly amused at what I’ve seen so far of this week’s posts!
See what other Photo Scavenger Hunters have come up with on today’s theme here at the photo hunt blogroll: newest entries are at the top.

Red is not one of my favorite colors, so I don’t have much of it in my home, and I wondered what to put up today. I thought of a couple of photos I could scan in, and then remembered this one from a couple of years ago (no snow yet this year) of Jeremy out in the snow and being red from the cold.
He inherited his mom’s tendency to have red cheeks — I was even nicknamed “Rosie” for a while in high school because of my “rosy” cheeks.

I was in a quandary about this week’s topic. I didn’t think I had any photos of lights. We don’t have our Christmas lights up yet and don’t do much with outside lights anyway. Then I thought of one of my favorite settings of light: I am home most of the time, but when I am out, I love seeing the lights of home through the window when I come home:

I also thought of a lampshade I made once:

It has different places that are pierced or partially cut so that the light showing through enhances the pattern.
Here’s a closer view:

This lamp is on my nightstand by the bed. I enjoyed making it — but I have never made another one. 🙂

This is a collection of some of our non-digital clocks. The one shaped like Idaho was made by my husband’s former pastor when both of them lived in Idaho. The three little ones in the front were some kind of award from the company where my husband used to work. The two off-white ones with pink roses were two I bought for the dining room and family room.

When I first saw that today’s theme was “plush,” all I could think of was stuffed animals:

Then I looked up the definition of “plush” at dictionary.com and found these definitons: “a fabric, as of silk, cotton, or wool, whose pile is more than 1/8 inch (0.3 cm) high; expensively or showily luxurious; abundantly rich; lush; luxuriant.”
The last two definitions made me think of
The Biltmore House in Asheville, NC. Beautiful! And luxurious! My middle son’s Junior-Senior banquet was held here (they don’t usually get this plushy, but I was glad they did so for one year.) They even had a plush ride:

This was from about 21 years ago when Jeremy was able to pull himself up and get around on foot a little bit. There was always something fascinating about looking out the window of the front screen door to the big wide world outside!
This was about 10 years ago. I think Jeremy (older now! 🙂 ) had some outside chore — cleaning the window or something. Jesse, then a toddler, loved to come and talk to him through the window.
This was taken by Jeremy when he was about 3. It was supposed to be a picture of my sister, but he had not yet developed his photography-taking skills and got her somewhat out of the frame. 🙂 He did however, get a nice shot of my ruffled country curtains which were all the rage then!
This is one of my middle son Jason’s pictures of the Biltmore house in Asheville, NC. His high school Junior-Senior banquet was there a couple of years ago. He has several great pictures of it, and several great window shots, but I’ll just use this one since I have several windows up already. 🙂
